It's not the prettiest town in the world, hence the photos being mostly of pelicans and bats from a prior post. That doesn't take away from just how much of an incredible experience we had there. It is the gateway to some phenomenal outdoor activities and sheer natural beauty. We would absolutely go back.
I know it's been awhile but we've been working a lot on our house and went on vacation to Australia. I'll get back to posting more regularly now that we are back. These Fruit Bats, Flying Foxes, were found in a tree in the middle of the city Cairns. There were thousands just resting during... Continue Reading →
We've settled into our new house and are definitely getting used to new critters that can be found in and around our home. This is the second Praying Mantis that we've seen and this time I had my camera handy. Definitely got some great photos but I need to invest in a macro lens!
I've been MIA lately because my wife and I bought a house. Lots to move and fix up to make sure the house feels like our own! Anyways, below are some of my favorites from a harbor cruise we took in Chicago. It was right around freezing with some gnarly wind gusts. Not the most... Continue Reading →
We visited as many as possible in a short window on our last day in Chicago on March. Our household isn't necessarily religious, but the architecture is always awe inspiring.
I know I've been MIA for awhile, that can all be chalked up to life getting in the way. Big changes are coming and both my wife and I have been crazy stressed for the past three weeks. The good thing is that within those three weeks we had time to visit Austin. One of... Continue Reading →
Our dog has gotten better and better off leash over the past year. We've worked hard to get her to where she is now and she can roam free with no major issues. These photos are from a nice afternoon before it gets far too hot in SoCal.
Chicago has some of the cooler looking skyscrapers and structures out of all the cities I've visited. On a clear day the glass acts as a mirror for the clouds and one could get lost trying to distinguish between what is a building and sky. These photos were taken on two different days, as you... I took these about four months ago just roaming around in my hometown. Nothing special, but thought I got some decent shots out of them. The weather definitely went from sunny to gloomy pretty quick.
I've posted photos from Legoland before because even as an adult I love them. Legos were a major part of my childhood and Star Wars only sweetens the deal. I wish they had the sets they do now 25 years ago, I never would have left my room! I wanted to try something a little... Continue Reading →
More of a fun post from our trip to Chicago in March. We didn't anticipate going to the Natural History Museum in Chicago (The Field) but had some extra time and decided to head inside. We were really glad that we did because Sue had recently been returned. Sue is known as the largest and... Continue Reading →
Chicago's metro system has some of the cooler looking industrial bridges that "loop" through the city center. Black and white seemed like it would do these structures the best justice. The photo that has a wall of graffiti was actually taken with a GoPro Hero 7 Black instead of my usual Canon T5i. This Chicago... Continue Reading →
